To direct the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture to identify and update the information on structures of archaeological, historic, and cultural value located in the urban zone and on other lands in the Municipality of Comerío, as part of the cultural patrimony of said Municipality.
The culture of the Puerto Rican people is based upon the historic events of its ancestors.
The pride of being Puerto Rican is affirmed when homage, respect, and admiration are rendered to the men and women who gave meaning and sense to their lives by enriching our cultural patrimony significantly, because they served the principles of liberty, justice, and equality with dignity, generosity, and loyalty.
It is the patriotic duty of each town to activate its cultural centers to maintain our traditions, customs, and our reason for being as a civilized people alive.
As time goes by, the historic structures, of the past and present, deteriorate to such an extent that they require remodeling, new construction, or special treatments, and therefore, the identification and restoration of the same is an urgent matter, for the purpose of taking the necessary legislative and community action for their historic preservation.
This Legislature has the patriotic duty to approve legislation to maintain our historic legacy alive, as a paradigm of pride so that the new generations of Puerto Ricans may be able to learn about their own history and that of our outstanding historic figures.
