Approved by the Department of State in February 2010, this document presents the First Amendment to the Cruise Ship Incentives Regulation of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (Regulation No. 7103). Its primary purpose is to implement recent changes to the Cruise Ship Lines Incentives in Puerto Rico Act. A key objective is to extend the benefits of these incentives to cruise lines utilizing any port within the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, rather than being restricted to specific locations. This expansion aims to enhance the marketing of Puerto Rico as a diverse tourism destination, thereby stimulating economic activity and development across all its tourist areas. The amendment also revises and introduces new definitions within Section 1.3 of the original regulation, clarifying terms such as "Agricultural Products," "Certified Local Supplier," and "Cruise Owner" to align with the updated incentive framework. This regulatory update seeks to broaden the scope and impact of cruise tourism on the island's economy.
