Esta ley enmienda la Ley Núm. 458 de 29 de diciembre de 2000 para incluir delitos adicionales, específicamente relacionados con el transporte y carga de agregados en vías públicas y violaciones a la Ley de Servicio Público de Puerto Rico, cuya convicción prohíbe la adjudicación de subastas o contratos gubernamentales.

To add subsection 16 to Section 3 of Act No. 458 of December 29, 2000, as amended, for the purpose of including additional crimes the conviction of which, cause the prohibitions set forth in this Act to apply.
Act No. 458 of December 29, 2000, as amended, which establishes the prohibition against awarding an auction or contract to a person convicted of crimes against property or public finances, was created to protect the interests of the State, overseeing the best use of public funds, as determined by our code of laws and tenets of good administration.
Said Act establishes prohibitions with regard to the awarding of auctions or contracts by the Commonwealth, clarifying the crimes for whose conviction the prohibitions contained in the Act shall apply.
For the purpose of continuing the attack against corruption in every possible way, and thereby insuring rules of healthy administration that guarantee our people absolute faith in proceedings for adjudicating auctions or contracts with the State, this legislative piece is presented to add several crimes to those already contemplated in the Act.
The purpose of this measure is to extend the prohibition established in Act No. 458, supra, to those who violate Sections 63, 64, and 65 of Act No. 109 of June 28, 1962, as amended, known as the "Puerto Rico Public Service Act," and Section 13 of Act No. 1 of May 16, 1972, as amended, related to the activity of transporting or loading of aggregates through the public ways of Puerto Rico.
Section 1A.- subsection 16 is added to Section 3 of Act No. 458 of December 29, 2000, as amended, to read as follows:
The crimes for whose conviction the prohibition set forth in this Act shall apply, are the following: (1) ... (2) ... (3) ... (4) ... (5) ... (6) ... (7) ... (8) ... (9) ... (10) ... (11) ... (12) ... (13) ... (14) ... (15) ...
(16) Those misdemeanors related to the activity of transporting or loading aggregates through public roads for commercial or industrial purposes, as typified and defined by Section 13 of Act No. 1 of May 16, 1972, as amended; and those misdemeanors as typified and defined by Sections 62, 63, 64, and 65 of Act No. 109 of June 28, 1962, as amended, known as the "Puerto Rico Public Service Act". ... Section 2.- This Act shall take effect immediately after its approval.
I hereby certify to the Secretary of State that the following Act No. 59 (H.B. 2364 (Conference) of the $4^{ ext {th }}$ Session of the $14^{ ext {th }}$ Legislature of Puerto Rico:
AN ACT to add subsection 16 to Section 3 of Act No. 458 of December 29, 2000 as amended, for the purpose of including additional crimes the conviction of which, cause the prohibitions set forth in this Act to apply, has been translated from Spanish to English and that the English version is correct.
