Esta ley declara la tercera semana de agosto de cada año como la "Semana de los Floristas de Puerto Rico", reconociendo la contribución de los floristas a la sociedad y la economía. La ley instruye al Gobernador a emitir una proclama y al Departamento de Estado a organizar actividades para conmemorar esta semana.

To declare and establish the third week of August of each year as the "Puerto Rico Florists Week."
Florists are a group of people dedicated to improving the quality of life, contributing their talent and services for the benefit of our society. Their art heightens the most beautiful feelings and helps harmonize human relationships thus contributing to the improvement of our daily lives in difficult times such as the ones in which we currently live.
Florists are flower shop owners floral designers and teachers in the field of flowers. They keep a quality product available on all occasions, and express their artistry in each creation.
Florists play an active and important part in every phase of human life in our society, conveying the feelings of each event with creativity and talent. Florists are entrepreneurs and artists who provide a source of employment, that is the livelihood for thousands of men and women. Presently, the industry of floristry qualifies as one of importance in our economy, since it renders services of great demand in the market. The increase of these art professionals has resulted in the formation of the Association of Florists, since 1960, which seeks to promote new
developments within the industry and to oversee the quality of the products it offers.
The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, acknowledging its excellent labor and contribution to our society, wishes to declare the third week of August of each year as the Puerto Rico Florists Week.
Section 1.- The third week of August of each year is hereby declared and established as the "Puerto Rico Florists Week."
Section 2.- The Governor of Puerto Rico must, through proclamation, exhort the people of Puerto Rico to commemorate the third week of August of each year as the "Puerto Rico Florists Week."
Section 3.- The Department of State of Puerto Rico shall implement the necessary measures to comply with the purposes of this Act, through the organization and celebration of official activities that acknowledge and emphasize the contribution of citizens and institutions or entities, public or private, who have promoted the trade or profession of Floristics.
Section 4.- This Act shall take effect immediately after its approval.
I hereby certify to the Secretary of State that the following Act No. 117 (H.B. 2813) of the $5^{ ext {th }}$ Session of the $14^{ ext {th }}$ Legislature of Puerto Rico:
AN ACT to declare and establish the third week of the month of August of each year as the "Puerto Rico Florists Week," has been translated from Spanish to English and that the English version is correct.
