Esta ley enmienda la Ley Núm. 2 de 27 de septiembre de 1985, conocida como la "Ley de la Oficina del Procurador de las Personas con Impedimentos", para corregir un error en la ubicación de un subinciso. El subinciso
(j) , que trata sobre la asistencia a agencias públicas, municipios y entidades privadas en el diseño e implementación de programas para personas con impedimentos, fue añadido por error a la Sección 6 y ahora se traslada a la Sección 9.

(j) to Section 9 of Act No. 2 of September 27, 1985, as amended, known as the "Office of the Disabled Persons Investigating Official Act," which subsection was added by mistake to Section 6 of Act No. 2 of September 27, 1985, as amended, by Act No. 428 of December 19, 2000; and to amend said Section 6 in order to eliminate said subsection
(j) .
The objective of the present legislation is to add subsection
(j) to Section 9 of Act No. 2 of September 27, 1985, as amended, known as the "Office of the Disabled Persons Investigating Official Act," which subsection was added by mistake to Section 6 of Act No. 2 of September 27, 1985, as amended, by virtue of Act No. 428 of December 19, 2000, and to amend said Section 6 in order to eliminate said subsection
(j) from its text.
It is the ministerial and constitutional duty of all Legislatures to amend any laws which are defective whether in form and/or substance. For such a reason, this Legislature issues forth the present legislation, for the benefit of persons with disabilities.
Section 1.—Section 6 of Act No. 2 of September 27, 1985, as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 6.—Office Personnel and Delegation of Functions.—
The Investigating Official may delegate on his/her Deputy or in any other official he or she designates to that effect, any of the functions provided for in this Act, except those related to the adoption and promulgation of rules and regulations and the power to appoint and remove personnel."
Section 2.-Subsection
(j) is hereby added to Section 9 of Act No. 2 of September 27, 1985, as amended, to read as follows: "Section 9.—Functions and Responsibilities.- In addition to any other functions and responsibilities provided in this chapter or in the statutes or programs whose administration and implementation are delegated to it, the Office shall:
a) $\ldots$ j) Assist at the request of public agencies, municipalities and private entities receiving public funds in the design, preparation, planning, development and implementation of programs offering guidance, advice, recruitment, training and assistance to persons with disabilities, including but not limited to the best use and benefit of Commonwealth and Federal funds and programs established for the benefit of persons with disabilities."
Section 3.-This Act shall take effect immediately after its approval.
