LEY

Para enmendar el Artículo 4 de la Ley Núm. 93 de 19 de junio de 1968, según enmendada, para permitirle a los participantes del Sistema de Retiro de los Empleados del Gobierno de Puerto Rico y sus dependencias, acogidos al plan de coordinación, acogerse al plan de completa suplementación sin restricción de término alguno.

Decrétase por la Asamblea Legislativa de Puerto Rico:

Artículo 1.- Se enmienda el Artículo 4 de la Ley Núm. 93 de 19 de junio de 1968, según enmendada, para que lea como sigue: "Artículo 4.- Las personas que ingresen al Sistema de Retiro como participantes en o después del primero de julio de 1968, o en el caso de policías y bomberos, que ingresen con posterioridad a la fecha del referéndum mencionado en el Artículo 2, expresarán su preferencia por uno u otro plan mediante la referida declaración al momento de ingresar. Se entenderá que los participantes que no sometan la declaración desean acogerse al plan de coordinación existente a la fecha de aprobación de esta Ley. Los participantes que al ingresar opten por el plan de completa suplementación harán las aportaciones mayores desde la fecha de su ingreso, a base de siete (7) por ciento de la retribución en el caso de miembros del Cuerpo de la Policía y del Cuerpo de Bomberos, y a base del siete (7) por ciento de la retribución en cuanto a los demás participantes, contando a partir de la fecha de ingreso más próxima al primero de julio de 1968.

Los participantes del Sistema de Retiro que estén acogidos al plan de coordinación existente, podrán acogerse al plan de completa suplementación siempre y cuando paguen al Sistema de Retiro las sumas necesarias más intereses al tipo corriente, para completar, las aportaciones a base del 7 por ciento de la retribución por el período de retroalifipaprimminto de Estado

B. 448) of the 1st Session of the 10th Legislature of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, entitled: AN ACT to amend Section 4 of Act No. 93 of June 19, 1968 as amended, to allow the participants of the Retirement System of the Employees of the Government of Puerto Rico and its dependencies, who have chosen the coordination plan, to avail themselves of the complete suplementation plan without any term restriction whatsoever, and finds the same are complete, true and correct versions of each other.

To amend Section 4 of Act No. 93 of June 19, 1968 as amended, to allow the participants of the Retirement System of the Employees of the Government of Puerto Rico and its dependencies, who have chosen the coordination plan, to avail themselves of the complete suplementation plan without any term restriction whatsoever.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF PUERTO RICO:

Section 1.- Section 4 of Act No. 93 of June 19, 1968 as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 4.-

The persons who become members of the Retirement System as participants on or after July 1, 1968, or in the case of policemen or firemen, who become members subsequent to the date of the referendum mentioned in Section 2, shall state their preference for either plan through the said declaration upon becoming members. It shall be understood that the participants who do not submit the declaration, wish to avail themselves of the existing coordination plan on the date of approval of this Act. The participants who on becoming members choose the complete supplementation plan shall make the

larger contribution from the date they become members, at the rate of seven (7) percent of the compensation in the case of members of the Police Corps and the Fire Corps, and at the rate of seven (7) percent of the compensation as to the other participants, reckoning from the date of entry nearest to July 1, 1968.

The participants of the Retirement System who have chosen the existing coordination plan may choose the complete suplementation plan, provided they pay to the Retirement System the necessary sums, plus interest at the current rate, to complete the contributions based on seven percent of the remuneration for the retroactive period.

Section 2.- This Act shall take effect immediately after its approval.
