Ley 27 del 1983
Resumen
Esta ley enmienda la 'Ley de Impuestos sobre Artículos de Uso y Consumo de Puerto Rico' para eximir del impuesto sobre espectáculos públicos a ciertos programas de boxeo. La exención aplica a eventos celebrados en Puerto Rico que incluyan al menos una pelea por el Campeonato Mundial o una pelea con un campeón mundial, siempre que se transmitan simultáneamente por radio. La ley también establece el procedimiento para que el Secretario de Recreación y Deportes certifique la elegibilidad y la obligación del promotor de notificar al Departamento de Hacienda.

LEY
Para enmendar el párrafo 9 del Apartado
(c) del Artículo 41 de la Ley Núm. 2 de 20 de enero de 1956, según enmendada, conocida como "Ley de Impuestos sobre Artículos de Uso y Consumo de Puerto Rico" a los efectos de disponer que se eximirán del impuesto sobre espectáculos los programas de boxeo en que participe un campeón mundial, que se transmitan simultáneamente por radio.
Decrétase por la Asamblea Legislativa de Puerto Rico:
Artículo 1.- Se enmienda el párrafo 9 del Apartado
(c) del Artículo 41 de la Ley Núm. 2 de 20 de enero de 1956, según enmendada, conocida como "Ley de Impuestos sobre Artículos de Uso y Consumo de Puerto Rico", para que se lea como sigue: "Artículo 41.-Espectáculos Públicos
(a) (b)
(c) Espectáculos Exentos.-El impuesto sobre espectáculos no será aplicable a: (1) (9) los programas boxísticos, que se celebren en Puerto Rico en los cuales se incluya por lo menos una pelea por el Campeonato Mundial de la categoría correspondiente o que se incluya por lo menos una pelea en la que participe un campeón mundial, y que se transmitan por radio simultáneamente. El Secretario del Departamento de Recreación y Deportes o un funcionario por él autorizado certificará al Secretario de Hacienda la pelea del programa boxístico y la categoría correspondiente del campeón o del Campeonato Mundial, para efectos de concederle la exención sobre impuesto sobre espectáculos públicos.
Será deber del empresario notificar a la Oficina de Distrito del Negociado de Arbitrios del Departamento de Hacienda no menos de diez (10)
días antes de la celebración del espectáculo, la fecha y sitio en que se llevarán a cabo el mismo y someter a dicha Oficina, para inspección y refrendo, la emisión total de boletos que han de ser utilizados en la actividad."
Artículo 2.- Esta Ley comenzará a regir inmediatamente después de su aprobación.

(c) of Section 41 of Act No. 2 of January 20, 1956 as amended, known as the "Excise Act of Puerto Rico" with the purpose of providing that the boxing programs in which a world champion participates and which are broadcast simultaneously by radio shall be exempted from the payment of taxes on public shows, and finds the same are complete, true and correct versions of each other.

(c) of Section 31 of Act No. 2 of January 20, 1956 as amended, known as the "Excise Act of Puerto Rico" with the purpose of providing that the boxing programs in which a world champion participates and which are broadcast simultaneously by radio shall be exempted from the payment of taxes on public shows.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF PUERTO RICO: Section 1.- Paragraph 9 of subsection
(c) of Section 41 of Act No. 2 of January 20, 1956 as amended, known as the "Excise Act of Puerto Rico" is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 41.- Public Shows
(a) (b)
(c) Exempt Shows.- The tax on shows shall not apply to: (1) (9) boxing match programs held in Puerto Rico in which at least one World Championship
fight of the corresponding category is included, or that at least one fight in which a world champion participates is included, and which is broadcast simultaneously by radio. The Secretary of the Sports and Recreation Department, or an official authorized by him, shall certify the fight on the boxing program and the corresponding World Championship category or champion to the Secretary of the Treasury, for the purpose of granting the exemption of the tax on public shows.
It shall be the duty of the promoter to notify the District Office of the Excise Bureau of the Department of the Treasury no later than ten (10) days before the show is to be held, as to the date and place the same shall take place, and submit to said Office for inspection and countersignature the total issue of tickets that are to be used in the event."
Section 2.- This Act shall take effect immediately after its approval.
